It's Like Baking a Cake

After going to my 37 week check up last week with the same status as the week before, I was rather disappointed. I just wanted to hear that progress was being made. I told my mom that I am ready for Parker to get here and patience is not my virtue. She called me back later to ask me if I have ever baked a cake? Of course I have, I love sweets! She then said, "What happens when you take the cake out too early?" I realized where she was going with this and replied, "it is mushy in the middle". We decided that I don't want a baby that is mushy in the middle or soupy on top! She made me feel much better and believe it or not, I am being patient! (like I have a choice) But really, I am at ease knowing he will come out when the timer goes off.

Parker's Room is Finally Finished

After lots of help from Mom, Mindy, Trish, and Kevin, Parker's room is finished. Now all we need is Parker! I was hoping at my doctor's appointment this morning she was going to tell me he will be here any day now but she didn't. She just said hang in there...I am getting impatient...who are we kidding, I am impatient.

36 weeks

We only have about 4 more weeks to go!!! I feel like I have been pregnant forever. I have not had an ounce of alcohol in 2010! I know it is all going to be worth it though. We have started our weekly doctors appointments and even though I am not dialated yet, Parker is starting to drop. I am getting really excited because I feel like things are starting to progress and he will be here before we know it.

Check Out the Nose!

Ok, so I can't figure out how to rotate the pictures....but look at Parker's nose in the last picture. It looks an awful lot like my nose. When we saw it, I tried to give Kevin a "high-five" but got rejected! He was kidding, of course. He told me that if Parker had all of my features that would be just fine with him. These pictures are at our 30-week ultrasound. Time is just flying by. Soon we will be able to tell if he really has my nose! We are so excited to meet him!

The Best Surprise Ever!!!

Our friends threw us a baby shower in Dallas at the beginning of May and I sent my mom and sister an invitation knowing that they wouldn't come because they are coming to the shower in June. Well to my complete and total surprise...they came! Everyone was in on it...I knew something was up but I couldn't figure it out. It was the best surprise ever!!! Even though their trip was short, I really enjoyed spending some time with them.

27 Weeks

This marks the end of the second trimester!!! I have been enjoying every minute of this pregnancy but I am starting to notice the effects of the extra weight. It is uncomfortable to sit or stand for too long. On the bright side, it just means we are getting closer to Parker's debut. Only 3 months left to go.

Parker Gets A Crib

Here we (and by we, I mean Kevin) are putting together Parker's brand new crib. Thank you Mom and Roger. Parker is very lucky to have such a great Gram.
Sam has been very curious about all things that have to do with Parker. We let her supervise the construction of the crib.

The Remodel

This is what my house looks like at 6 months pregnant! It all started when I said, "all I want to have done before Parker get here is to have the walls textured and painted." And some how that turned into taking out a wall. It must run in the family. My mom said that her house always looked like this when she was married to my dad! I have been very stressed about the remodel but Kevin assures me it will be done by mid June. Stay tuned...

Week 22

Excuse the hair. Here I am at just over 22 weeks. I thought I was getting out of the "is she fat or is she pregnant" stage but a lady on the elevator this week asked me if I get a lot of people staring at me trying to figure if I am pregnant. Oh well, I am sure in a few more weeks I will be wishing that was the case!

Wiggle Worm

This week I really started to feel Parker move around. Kevin was even able to feel a jab! For the most part, the movements are pretty sublte but fairly frequent. It is comforting to know things are progressing and I am getting more and more excited by the day.

Thumbs Up! It's a Boy!

It's official, we are having a boy. No more Velveeta! It's Parker now. We thought we would go ahead and give him a celebrity name...Parker Polumbus! It just sounds like a name destined for greatness. He is already hamming it up, in the first picture he is giving us the thumbs up. The second ultrasound is not very clear but that is where he is showing us that he is a boy. The last picture is a 3-D ultrasound of Parker sucking his thumb. He still looks a little bit like an alien so we are going to leave him in a little longer so he can get a little bit cuter!

Our Practice Baby

This is our baby, Sam, on her couch that she has decided to eat - she doesn't chew anything else we have. We are very anxious to see how she will do with the baby. She has been around kids before but we want to know how she will adapt to being a sister.

18 weeks

Does the bump look any bigger? When I put my clothes on in the morning I feel like I am getting bigger but now that I look at the pictures, I can't really tell...I am definitely not complaining but I am kind of ready for it to be obvious!

Velveeta or Velveeto?

Today we went to the doctor for an ultrasound and they said they think velveeta is probably a Velveeto!!! We have to wait a few more weeks for a little better evidence but now we kind of have an idea. Velveeta was so active today during our until the end when I think he got tired, so he propped his leg up on the wall and then crossed his legs!!! That was the funniest thing. I told Kevin that if Velveeta is a boy, his is probably going to be metrosexual!!!! Just in case you can't tell, the 1st picture is of the foot and the 2nd is the little legs.

14 weeks

I am thinking it is time to ease up on the ice cream sundaes!

Velveeta at 13 weeks

Well, we weren't supposed to see Velveeta today but we couldn't find the heartbeat (which is apparently normal - thanks for letting me know!). When the doctor did the ultrasound, we got to see the little legs kicking! It was so awesome and finally feels real.
